Better Business Bureau tips for saving your money

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI)- After the gift-giving season and the start of the new year handling debt and saving money are the focus on many people’s minds.

I spoke with Whitney Quick regional director of the Better Business Bureau about how to manage.

“So, first you want to make sure that you inventory your credit card, credit cards are known to have a high-interest rate, and this can waste a lot of money over time so reach out to your credit card company,” Quick said, “some experts recommend paying off cards with the highest interest rate others recommend paying off cards with the smallest balance first.”

Another tip is to avoid wasting money on unethical businesses and scams.

You can look up businesses on the BBB website.

Quick also says it’s important to use free financial tools when possible.

Take advantage of free tools there are many online tools that can help manage and reduce debt” said Quick.

Lastly, Quick says to look over your expenses and budget, also keep track of what you spend, and cut back where you can.
