$1.88 million to go to workforce training in KY

(KBSI) – Thursday, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced that $1.88 million is set to go toward training more than 8,000 people in the state.

It is part of the Commonwealth’s workforce training initiative. The state’s support of workforce training in fiscal year 2023 now total more than $3.8 million for nearly 60 applicants across Kentucky to train more than 12,0000 employees.

“We are mid economic growth like we have never seen before and to keep pace with what is unpresecented growth we have to be proactive by investing in our workforce training,” said Gov. Beshear.

This announcement comes just days after Gov. Beshear announced his administration is joing forces with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce to launch a prison-to-wrk pipeline to further boost workforce participation.
