1 injured after brush pile burn explodes in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – One person went to hospital with injuries to his arms, face and side after trying to use gasoline to burn a brush pile Friday morning.
This happened at 324 North Broadview behind US bank at 10:20 a.m.
Cape Girardeau Fire Department Battalion Chief Drew St. John says the man was alert and oriented when he went to the hospital.
St. John says the man was trying to light a brush pile a on fire. It flashed, he dropped gas can, it exploded and the man was blown off the pile.
St. John warns to not use gasoline to start a fire if you plan to burn.
