1 injured after tractor-trailer hits tree in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – One person was injured in a semi tractor-trailer crash in McCracken County on Thursday, January 18.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ryan Willcutt says a semi tractor-trailer went off the roadway and collided with a tree on Blandville Road.
Sheriff’s deputies responded around 9:30 p.m. to Blandville Road between McCracken Boulevard & Mayfield Metropolis Road.
Rene Sanchez, 60, of Tampa, Florida was driving a 2013 Freightliner westbound on Blandville Road.
Sanchez reported he tried to avoid a collision with a deer in the road. The semi tractor-trailer left the road and collided with a tree.
Sanchez was trapped in the cab. He was extracted by mechanical means by Lone Oak Fire Department.
Sanchez was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The road was closed for about nine hours as crews responded to the crash.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Lone Oak Fire Department, McCracken County DES, Mercy Regional Ambulance and Lents Towing.
