2 arrested in Williamson County after deputies discover stolen vehicle, narcotics

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — Two people were arrested after Williamson County sheriff’s deputies found a stolen U-Haul truck containing methamphetamine, a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

Deputies stopped the vehicle on Interstate 57 near The Hill Avenue on Feb. 28, 2025. The driver, Jonathan B. Eldridge, of West Frankfort, and passenger Jennifer L. Mayo, of Aurora, were both cited for possession of a stolen vehicle, methamphetamine and a controlled substance.

Eldridge was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor. Mayo was cited for possession of a firearm without a FOID card, a Class 3 felony.

Both were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
