2 injured in collision between vehicle and train in McLeansboro

MCLEANSBORO, Ill., (KBSI) — Two people were injured, one critically, in a collision between a passenger vehicle and a train in McLeansboro.

The Illinois State Police said the accident occurred around 4:17 p.m. yesterday near the intersection of North Washington Street and Jefferson Street. The vehicle failed to stop at the railroad crossing and was struck by the eastbound train.

Both occupants were taken to a local hospital, and one was later airlifted to a regional hospital for further treatment.
