They also say to consider buying second hand or refurbished electronics.

According to the list, it’s also better to wait until winter to start home improvement projects.

And the best date to buy a plane ticket for holiday travel?

“You want to book your travel by early October,” said David Brindle, deputy editor for AARP magazine. “According to Google Data, flights are cheapest 71 days out from your departure date. So go ahead and mark at your calendar now to make sure that you can lock in those savings for your holiday travel.”

Finally, they say to move your money from a savings account to a high-yield account.
