All Three Rivers College nursing students pass exam on 1st attempt

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KBSI) – On their first attempt during the fall semester, all 55 Three Rivers College Nursing students across all programs successfully passed the NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN exam that is required to become a registered nurse or practical nurse.
“This is the first time Three Rivers students have achieved this incredible milestone. They faced many challenges,” said Three Rivers Director of Nursing Laura McElroy. “Their success is nothing short of amazing.”
Three Rivers graduated 39 Practical Nursing students between its Poplar Bluff and Sikeston programs in December.
This is the fourth year in a row and the sixth time the Practical Nursing program has earned a 100 percent pass rate.
“Our faculty take pride in making sure TRC students are fully prepared for licensure when they graduate,” said Director of Practical Nursing Andrea Pierce. “Our students’ continued success is a tribute to their hard work and commitment.”
The 2023 NCLEX-RN national pass rate among all candidates was 69.66%. The NCLEX-PN pass rate was 74.54%, according to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Students must complete an application and meet certain criteria to be admitted into Three Rivers’ nursing programs.
