Amber Alert canceled; Abducted Missouri child found safe

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — An Amber Alert issued for a 5-year-old child abducted in Cape Girardeau has been canceled after the child was found safe.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the child was taken around 7:06 p.m. near the 2800 block of Wagner Street.

Markeila Williamson, 35, the child’s non-custodial mother, allegedly abducted the child from their guardians, the patrol said.

Williamson is now in custody, and the child is safe, authorities said.
