American Legion baseball Hall of Famer, John J. ‘Doc’ Yallaly, 93, passes away

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — John J. “Doc” Yallaly, 93, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, March 3, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Southeast.

Yallaly was a local baseball legend, who was inducted into the American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Ford & Sons Sprigg St. Chapel, with Parish Prayers at 4 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Cathedral, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating.
