Animal clinic provides lifesaving support to animals of storm victims

SOURTHERN ILLINOIS(KBSI) – After a tornado swept through the Williamson County area a local animal clinic is offering lifesaving support services to animals who have been displaced or may need help.

Christy Anderson is the founder and Director of Wright-Way Rescue in Murphysboro Illinois. She says they are offering vet services completely free to any animals that were hurt during the recent tornado and giving free food, pet supplies and more

“So, our goal is to keep pets at homes they already have whenever possible and so in response to the horrific tornado that swept through Marion one of the things were doing is offering resources to pet owners who my need them” says Anderson. “Were offering emergency foster care for dogs and cats that might need a temporary place to go until their owners are able to regroup.”

Anderson says they are working closely with other shelters to help locate any animals that may have gotten lost during the tornado.

“So, we’re spreading the word about any pet that might be out there and missing and were also working with Williamson County animal control to make sure that no animal loses its life as a result of becoming homeless says Anderson.

Anderson says their efforts are made possible by community support and donations.

Anyone willing to open their home temporarily to an animal in need or financial donations or dog or cat food donations are all needed. Anderson says they have one mission….

“We can’t even imagine what some of these people are having to go through and so the thought of having to give up their pet as a result is just heartbreaking and so if we can be a part of preventing that and keeping pets in homes with owners that already care about them than that is just a huge part of Wright-Way Rescues mission” says Anderson.
