Backpack giveaway, Back-To-School event set for Aug. 17

SCOTT CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — Kay’s Carry On will host a backpack giveaway and educational event on Aug. 17, featuring local authors reading from their works on foster care.

The event, which includes free food and entertainment, aims to promote the importance of sharing personal stories.

Visionary author and creator of “The Faces of Foster Care” anthologies will be among the authors participating.

Activities will include balloon creations, a bouncy house, table activities and a presence by the Scott City library.

The event’s theme is “YOUR STORY MATTERS!”
