Blue Alert canceled after suspect arrested in Kansas

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo., (KBSI) — A Blue Alert issued for a man suspected of shooting a Missouri police officer on Sunday has been canceled, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Thomas Eugene Tolbert, 27, was arrested Tuesday in Ellis County, Kansas, after law enforcement received a tip that he might be staying at a local hotel.

The Hays Police Department, Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and KBI responded to the hotel and took Tolbert into custody around 4:50 a.m. without incident.
