Bone marrow donor registration drive set for Monday, Tuesday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – A bone marrow donor registration drive will be held Monday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Southeast Health College of Nursing and Health Sciences, 2001 William St.
The public is invited to attend and join the registry.
Individuals aged 18-40 can participate by submitting a cheek swab to be added to the national bone marrow donor database.
Those who match a patient in need of a transplant will be contacted for additional testing.
A bone marrow transplant can be a lifesaving treatment for patients with certain types of cancer.
