Buckner man faces charges in stabbing of son

BUCKNER, Ill. (KBSI) – A Buckner man faces charges after sheriff’s deputies say he stabbed his son.

William Edwards, 74, faces a charge of aggravated domestic battery.

Edwards was arrest around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 after deputies were called to a home in Bucker.

When deputies arrived, they found Edwards in a ongoing physical altercation with his 41-year-old son who lives in the same home.

The younger Edwards suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.

William Edwards was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department. He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.

Edwards’ son was taken transported by helicopter to Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

While deputies were on the scene they made two other arrests were unrelated to the stabbing.

Kevin Kondoudis, 53, and Whitney Gosnell, 28, both of Buckner were arrested for obstructing a peace officer for causing a disturbance outside the Edward’s home during the early stages of the investigation, according to the sheriff’s department.

Gosnell was also charged with possession of methamphetamine.

The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
