Cape Catfish honor Parks and Recreation employee at Capaha Field

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Catfish honored Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation employee Joe Newman during Thursday night’s doubleheader at Capaha Field.

Newman, the department’s sports complex maintenance supervisor, received a 2025 Prospect League Championship ring and threw the ceremonial first pitch.

Cape Catfish President Glenn Campbell and General Manager Mark Hogan presented Newman with the ring.

Newman helps maintain Capaha Field and prepare it for games, including restoring the field after heavy rain. City officials thanked him for his dedication and service.
