Cape Girardeau County Commission declares state of emergency due to severe weather
CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau County Commission declared a state of emergency Thursday due to severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, rain and flooding.
The declaration, signed by Presiding Commissioner Clint Tracy and Associate Commissioners Steve Daume and Charles Herbst, invokes emergency authority to protect lives and property.
All public offices and employees are directed to exercise diligence in their duties during the emergency.
Citizens are urged to comply with emergency measures, cooperate with officials and obey lawful directions.
The declaration is pursuant to Chapter 44 of the Revised Missouri State Statutes and county ordinances.
