Cape Girardeau Historic Preservation commission seeks nominations for endangered buildings list
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Historic Preservation Commission is accepting nominations for its 2025 Endangered Buildings List.
The list, introduced in 2012, aims to raise awareness about historically valuable buildings and structures at risk of deterioration or demolition.
To nominate a building, visit (link unavailable) or contact the Planning Services Division at City Hall. Nominations must include:
– Building address or location description
– Explanation of historic significance
– Explanation of endangerment
– Suggested preservation actions
– At least one current photo
Nominations are due March 7. The commission will review submissions on March 19 and adopt the list on April 16.
