Cape Girardeau Nature Center celebrates 20 years
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Department of Conservation is hosting a 20th anniversary celebration for the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center on May 3.
The event, which runs from 1 to 4 p.m., will feature hands-on nature activities, including archery, fishing and outdoor cooking.
The celebration will also mark the “retirement” of the center’s 20-year-old conjoined black rat snake, which was found in Delta in 2005.
“It’s quite the accomplishment for a black rat snake with four eyes, two tongues and two brains to survive for 20 years,” said Laci Prucinsky, nature center manager.
The event is free and open to all ages.
