Cape Girardeau police investigate stabbing incident

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Authorities responded to a report of a stabbing on July 11, 2025, at approximately 6:51 p.m.

Officers found two males with blood on their shirts and facial injuries. One of the individuals, who had been stabbed in the back of the head, was transported to a local emergency room for treatment.

A suspect, Lance Johnson, was later taken into custody. A search warrant was executed at the residence, and a steak knife with apparent blood on it was found in the kitchen trash can.

The investigation is ongoing.
