CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – City leaders posted a message on the City of Carbondale Government Facebook page addressing the ongoing war in Gaza.

At the request of the community, the city will facilitate a community gathering on Tuesday, April 30 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Carbondale Public Library.

This is to “provide a safe space for our community members to speak to their lived experience and express their grief and concerns.”

After the gathering, there will be a candlelight vigil to “honor and grieve the unjust loss of life we have collectively witnessed in the last several months.”
