Carbondale police investigating after shots fired

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police are investigating after receiving a call of shots fired late Monday night.

Officers responded to the 500 block of South Forest Street in reference to a report of multiple shots fired at 11:05 p.m.

The suspects left the area before officers arriving, according to police.

Officers learned, after the shots were fired, a silver sedan was seen driving west on West Schwartz Street at a high rate of speed with the headlights turned off.

There were no injuries. However, a resident reported damage to a home.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
