Carbondale police to accept potentially dangerous prescription meds on Oct. 28

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – The Carbondale Police Department will accept potentially dangerous prescription medications on October 28.
The Drug Enforcement Administration’s 25th Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 28.
The public can drop off potentially dangerous prescription medications at the lobby of the Carbondale Police Department (501 South Washington Street in Carbondale) on Saturday, October 28 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Drugs that are accepted include tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs.
Drugs that are not accepted include liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, and other sharps and illegal drugs.
The DEA will continue to accept vaping devices and cartridges at its drop-off locations provided lithium batteries are removed.
