FOX23 News at 9 p.m

CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. (KBSI) — The Cave-In-Rock Ferry shut down Sunday morning due to strong winds along the Ohio River.

Officials said the ferry stopped operating around 10 a.m. because of weather conditions. Service will remain suspended until further notice.

The ferry connects Kentucky Route 91 in Crittenden County, Kentucky, with Illinois Route 1 in Hardin County, Illinois, providing a route across the Ohio River for drivers traveling between the two states.

Authorities say updates on when the ferry will reopen will be posted on the ferry service’s official Facebook page.
