ChemoPaks donated to help cancer patients

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Walks Foundation donated ChemoPaks for cancer patients on Monday.

Nate Gautier from Walks with Nate donated about 100 ChemoPak’s for cancer patients in the community for the Christmas season.

He donated several ChemoPaks to Saint Francis Foundation on December 18.

The Walks Foundation raises awareness of testicular cancer and the importance of monthly self-exams.

About a week earlier, he donated about 50 of the packages to Southeast Health Foundation for use at the Southeast Cancer Center.

Each pack is full of journals, non-scented lotion, lip balms, queasy drops, lemon drops, and other items patients can use during their treatment.

Nate Gautier is the Director of the Walk’s Foundation.

“The walks Foundation just wants to love on Cancer Patients. I’m a Cancer Survivor myself so when we formed this thing back in 2019 it was really just to give a little love to the community., says Gautier.

A letter written by Gautier was also included in every care pack, explaining what certain items were for.

One paragraph reads“A rock, many times cancer patients can feel that they don’t have anything to hold onto. Decisions and information seem to fly at a million miles a minute and you can be left feeling unstable the rock has always been a physical object for holding and creating a feeling of stability. When I was scared, I often put my hand in my pocket and clenched mine tight for confidence to be brave and keep fighting. – And fight is just what Gautier did.

“In April of this year I’ll go upstairs to the Cancer Institute I’m very confident that Dr. Nottin and I will have an all clear and I will officially graduate so I’ll be out of remission in April., Says Gautier.”

Wishing everyone struggling with an illness over the holiday’s remission and recovery
