City of Carbondale to distribute free food boxes to residents
CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The City of Carbondale will distribute boxes of fresh food to residents on July 15, starting at 8:30 a.m. until supplies run out.
The food boxes, provided by Cusumano & Sons, Inc., will be available for pickup at the West parking lot of City Hall. Residents can drive through to collect a box.
The city is also offering delivery service for homebound residents with mobility challenges. To request delivery, residents must submit their request by July 11 at 12 p.m. Deliveries will only be made to Carbondale addresses.
Interim City Manager and Police Chief Stan Reno said the initiative reflects the city’s commitment to the well-being of its community and ensuring access to healthy food.
