Community gathers for annual Prayer Walk honoring victims of unsolved murders

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) -The 6th Annual Stop Needless Acts of Violence Please (S.N.A.P) Prayer Walk took place, dedicated to remembering those who lost their lives to violence with their murders still unsolved.
The prayer walk provided an opportunity for the community and its leaders to come together and pay tribute to the victims of unresolved murders.
Felice Patton, the founder of S.N.A.P, expressed the purpose of the walk, stating, “We’re walking to the sites where people have been shot at, killed, and murdered, from North Lorimier all the way to William down to Main Street, and back to Lorimier.”
S.N.A.P continues to promote unity by collaborating with other organizations to raise awareness against gun violence.
Patton emphasized the importance of community awareness and support, stating, “We bring awareness to the community so we can support our community and unite against gun violence. We are also here with Moms Demand Action Against Gun Violence, and together we aim to make the community aware that we must take action to help our community.”
In addition to organizing events like the prayer walk to raise awareness about violence, Patton mentioned their initiative called S.N.A.P for Kids, which focuses on teaching children how to handle their emotions.
Through this program, they aim to equip children with valuable skills to navigate challenging situations.
