Community rallies together amid disaster relief efforts for Delta, Mo.

DELTA, Mo., (KBSI) – As recovery efforts continue, local officials are urging those who want to help with cleanup to wait, as Ameren crews work to rebuild the power grid.

Instead, donations are being accepted at the Delta Community Building, located at 211 E State Street. Needed items include:

Bottled water
Non-perishable food
Storage totes
Trash bags
Flashlights and batteries
Phone chargers and power banks
Gas cards
Generators
Tarps, bungee cords, and rope
Diapers, wipes, and hygiene items

Used clothing, bedding, furniture, expired food, and hotel toiletries are not being accepted.

The FEMA Building at Delta High School, located at 324 N Liberty Street, is serving as an emergency shelter, offering food, medical supplies, and a place to sleep.

Local residents are coming together to support each other, and officials are urging continued support and community strength in the coming days.
