EPA officials to visit Calvert City factory about air pollution

CALVERT CITY, Ky. (KBSI) – A factory in Calvert City is producting more air pollution than any other factory in the country, according to the federal Environmental Protection Agency.

FOX23 News Multimedia Journalist Shelby Brown spoke with Calvert City’s mayor about the air pollution coming from West Lake Chemical Corporation.

Residents are at risk for cancer and other health risks, according to the EPA

Representatives from the federal EPA are coming to meet with residents on February 13.

The factory provides more than 1000 jobs to the area.

Some residents seem more concerned about losing a way to provide for their families than about the air pollution.
