Firefighters battle blaze at abandoned church building in Metropolis
METROPOLIS, Ill (KBSI) – Firefighters battled a blaze at an abandoned church building in Metropolis Monday night.
The fire engulfed an abandoned church at 8th and Broadway.
It required all four departments in Massac County to work together to put out the flames.
Firefighters worked on the blaze through the night and managed to put it out just after 11 p.m.
No word on any injuries or what caused the fire.
