Free FAFSA support sessions available in June

(KBSI) – It is not too late for students and their parents to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Free expert assistance is available this summer to help students complete the FAFSA.
There is an almost 14% decline in submissions compared to last year due to this year’s rocky start of the new FAFSA, according to the Missouri College and Career Attainment Network (MOCAN).
This means nearly 5,000 fewer students in Missouri could be missing their chance at a higher education. But never fear! Free expert help is available.
Every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon and Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. in June, students and parents can drop in virtually to get one-on-one assistance with FAFSA completion.
MOCAN staff and financial aid experts can answer their FAFSA questions.

Affordability is the biggest challenge students face when considering college and completing the FAFSA is the first step, according to MOCAN.
The 2024-25 FAFSA was redesigned and was delayed in opening.
Last year Missouri students left a $78,820,804 of unclaimed Pell Grants on the table.
