Hayti man arrested after high-speed chase

HAYTI, Mo., (KBSI) — A 37-year-old Hayti Heights man was arrested Saturday after leading police on a high-speed chase.

Ibra-Im Lawrence was stopped by Hayti officers for speeding, but he accelerated and fled, reaching speeds of over 90 mph.

The pursuit ended in Hayti Heights, where Lawrence exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers used a Taser to subdue him.

Lawrence was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, then transported to the Pemiscot County Jail.

He faces charges including aggravated fleeing, resisting arrest, interference with a healthcare facility and speeding.
