Hiker dies after falling in Pope County, Ill.

POPE COUNTY, Il., (KBSI)- Pope County Sheriff’s Department received a phone call at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27th, for a male hiker who had fallen.

Emergency services with the Pope County Rural Ambulance Service along with the Pope County Fire Department, in Jackson Falls, Shawnee National Forest responded to the 911 call.
Upon approaching the hiker, they realized the man was deceased.
