House Springs man charged with attempted murder after shooting, standoff

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A House Springs man faces multiple charges following a shooting and standoff Thursday morning, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Ronald L. Lalk, 44, of House Springs, is charged with first-degree assault (attempted murder), armed criminal action, second-degree kidnapping and unlawful use of a weapon.

Investigators said Lalk is accused of shooting a woman at a home in the 4000 block of Crest Drive in House Springs during the early morning hours of March 12.

Deputies, detectives, SWAT team members and crisis negotiators responded to the scene and were able to take Lalk into custody without injuries to anyone involved.

Officials also credited the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office and Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski for quickly securing in-custody warrants following the arrest.
