CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Parents who need a helping hand for Christmas can attend a free event in Cape Girardeau on Saturday. A local organization hopes to give hundreds of families a Christmas present for a child and a day of family fun.

Impact 1 More is helping families get in the holiday spirit this weekend while also connecting and strengthening ties with those who serve our community, first responders.

Matiss Vitolis, is the Executive Director and founder of Impact 1 More, a nonprofit organization that works to make a community impact and help those in need. Saturday December 13, 2025, they are partnering with the First Responders Children’s Foundation and Rock of Cape church to host a completely free Christmas event.

“There will be different activities that they can join and just enjoy the day and get into the Christmas spirit before Christmas this year” says Vitolis.

From 11:00 am to 1:00pm families can show up with their child, and each child will get a free toy and other items, enjoy a bounce house, face painting, and lots of yummy treats all with the help of first responders, Krisinda Bowlin is the Assistant Director of Impact 1 More.

She says helping the community is what the holiday season is all about.

“Well, I think it’s just important for me to show god’s love and so this is the way that we do it, and especially this time of the year. You know, they say that’s the reason for the season” says Bowlin .

No preregistration is needed, and presents are available on a first come first serve basis.
