Independence Day fireworks canceled at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Independence Day fireworks at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau have been canceled.

It was canceled due to land development around the Veterans Home and safety restrictions, according to the Missouri Veterans Commission.

The fireworks display has been a long-standing tradition for the Veterans Home. It drew hundreds of spectators.

Veterans at the Cape Girardeau facility will attend other community events instead.
