Jackson marks Missouri Local Government Week, honors employees for years of service

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The City of Jackson is recognizing Missouri Local Government Week, observed May 3–9, 2026, and highlighting the role local government plays in daily life.

City officials said local government services — including emergency response, public works, education and utilities — directly impact residents and help maintain safe, functioning communities.

Officials said the week serves as an opportunity to thank employees who support essential services such as law enforcement, fire protection, road maintenance, water systems, public transportation and waste collection.

The city also recognized employees for years of service:
