Juneteenth celebration set for John A. Logan College
CARTERVILLE, Ill., (KBSI) — A Juneteenth celebration will be held at John A. Logan College on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event, themed “160 Years in Peace – Changing Forward Together,” will take place in the Waterfall Courtyard and feature guest speakers, live music and food vendors.
Carbondale Mayor Carolin Harvey, former Congressman Dr. Glenn Poshard and JALC President Dr. Kirk Overstreet will provide opening remarks.
Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and donations of food and hygiene items for the Carterville United Pantry.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to the conference center or cafeteria.
