K-9 Nerro helps take down suspected narcotics distributor in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau man was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected narcotics, thanks to the keen senses of K-9 Nerro.

On April 9, around 3:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 900-block of Broadway.

Patrolman Pernell deployed K-9 Nerro, who gave a positive alert for narcotics.

Officers found approximately 81 grams of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.

Connor Fanger, 29, was arrested and charged with:
Class C Felony – Trafficking 2nd Degree
Class C Felony – Delivery of a Controlled Substance

Bond was set at $40,000 cash/surety. Fanger is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The arrest highlights the critical work done by officers and their K-9 partners to keep Cape Girardeau safe.
