K9 helps find man accused of drugs, domestic assault

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Bollinger County man faces domestic assault and drug charges after a Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office K9 helped track and find him.

On Monday, April 1, Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Missouri Highway 72 West in reference to a 911 call for a domestic assault.

The suspect was identified as Randy Bordelon.

Deputies collected evidence in reference to a domestic assault.

Bollinger County Sheriff Casey A. Graham says Bordelon had left the home on foot.

Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office K9 Loki was deployed to assist in tracking and finding Bordelon.

After a successful track by K9 Loki, Bordelon was found in a wooded area and arrested.

He was taken to the Bollinger County Jail where he was placed on a 24 hour hold pending the issuance of an arrest warrant.

When he was arrested, Bordelon had five pending felony criminal cases in Ste. Genevieve County and one pending felony criminal case in Bollinger County for which he had been released on bond in those cases.

After his arrest, the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office requested bond revocations on each of those cases.

On Tuesday, April 2, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Bordelon in reference to this investigation.

Bredelon faces charges of domestic assault 2nd degree – Class D felony, possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine – Class D felony and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia – Class D felony.

His bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety.

A felony arrest warrant was issued on April 3 for Bordelon in reference to the requested bond revocation out of Bollinger County.

Bordelon remained behind bard in the Bollinger County Jail on April 3.

The Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office was awarded the Canine Replacement Grant through the Missouri Department of Public Safety in 2023.

The Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office was one of 36 agencies in the State of Missouri awarded this grant.

The grant was for the purchase of a canine, equipment, initial training, and continuing training for one year and totaled $15,650.93.

K9 Loki was purchased from Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. He and Corporal Dewayne Howard completed and graduated from an eight week K9 Academy. Since their completion of the K9 Academy, K9 Loki has been a vital member of the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, according to Sheriff Casey A. Graham.
