CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are in full swing in Cape Girardeau, with local businesses seeing an increase in customers throughout the day.
Katy O’Ferrell’s is hosting an all-day event from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., featuring traditional food, drinks and live music.
Staff say the holiday is one of their busiest days of the year, with a steady flow of people coming in to celebrate with friends and take part in the tradition.
The menu includes classic favorites like corned beef and cabbage, along with green beer and Irish staples like Guinness. Live music is scheduled through the afternoon and into the evening.
Front of house manager Devyn Barton says the event has become something both staff and customers look forward to each year.
“It’s definitely our busiest day of the year. Everyone comes in, has a good drink, hangs out — it’s just a really fun day for us,” Barton said.
Staff say events like this also give a boost to business, as people choose to celebrate locally.
The celebration is expected to continue into the night, bringing both regulars and new customers through the doors.
