Keiler Park Playground Expansion Project set to begin July 25

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A playground expansion project is set to begin at Keiler Park on July 25, with crews preparing the site for new playground equipment designed for children ages 2-5.

The equipment will include a play structure with slides, swings, and a rider, as well as inclusive play elements. The project is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.

According to Director of Parks & Recreation Amie Clark, the project is part of the city’s efforts to provide safe and inclusive spaces for families. The new play area is funded in part by a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

The existing playground will remain open during the project, but visitors are advised to watch for work crews and equipment. A temporary mulch surface will be installed until a pour-in-place rubber safety surface can be poured, funded by a Kentucky Dept. of Waste Management grant.
