Kentucky woman found passed out in vehicle with baby

McCracken County, Ky. (KBSI) – A woman is in custody after allegedly being under the influence in a car with an infant.

According to McCracken County Sheriff’s Department on December 11, 2024, around 2:13 am deputies responded to the 2900 block of Geibe Road for a suspicious vehicle.

It was reported a vehicle had driven off into a field. A resident of the area checked the vehicle and observed a female who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel.

It was also reported an infant child was present in the car. 

A deputy arrived on scene and confirmed a female was driving, who was later identified as Candyce Taylor, age 33, of Paducah, appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat. The deputy also found a 9-month-old child in a car seat.

Investigation determined Taylor was under the influence and she was ultimately arrested and transported to McCracken County Regional Jail.

As a precaution deputies had medical staff assess the child and it was determined the child was not injured.

The child was then released to family.

Candyce Taylor was arrested and faces charges of operating motor vehicle u/influence alcohol – 2nd offense (agg cir), Wanton endangerment 1st degree,

Failure to notify address change to dept of transportation.
