Kinder wins Cape Girardeau mayor

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Stacy Kinder won the race for Cape Girardeau mayor in the Missouri Municipal Election on April 5.

She narrowly won over incumbent Mayor Bob Fox.

Kinder garnered 2,113 votes over Fox’s 2,090 votes.

Michelle Latham received 428 votes.

Kinder is the current City Council Representative for Ward 6.

The city council will cavass (certify) the election at a special meeting on Monday, April 11 at 5 p.m. They also plan to acknowledge the former office holders.

Newly elected candidates will be sworn in to office at the regular meeting on Monday, April 18.
