Livingston County fugitive arrested after foot pursuit in Paducah

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Livingston County fugitive Thursday afternoon following a traffic stop and brief foot chase in Paducah.

Just before 2 p.m., detectives received information that Justin Metcalf, 41, of Smithland, who was wanted on multiple outstanding Livingston County warrants, was traveling from Brookport, Illinois, to Paducah.

The warrants were related to charges of attempting to induce a minor to engage in sexual activity and failing to appear in court on a pending assault case.
At approximately 1:46 p.m., detectives observed Metcalf crossing into Kentucky from Illinois in a vehicle on North 8th Street.

When detectives initiated a traffic stop in the 1200 block, Metcalf exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was apprehended shortly afterward following a brief pursuit.

A passenger, Jamie Metcalf, 37, also of Smithland, was taken into custody on an outstanding Livingston County warrant for failure to appear in court on an unrelated case.

During a search of the vehicle, detectives located a quantity of methamphetamine.

Both suspects were transported to and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

  • Resisting Arrest
  • Possession of Methamphetamine, 3rd offense
