LYON COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is participating in Cram the Cruiser to collect donations of food and cash for the Hope Food Bank and toys for other local charities, including the Family Resource Center, during the holiday season.

Members of the community are encouraged to stop by the courthouse, Monday through Friday (8 a.m.-4 p.m.), as well as designated retail outlets on the weekends through December 15 to help “cram the cruiser” that is parked in front of these locations.

non-perishable food items such as canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, chili or spaghetti sauce, brownie and cake mixes, coffee, water, powdered milk, and juice are accepted. Items can be placed directly in the rear of the cruiser or brought into the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s office personnel will deliver donations to the Hope Food Bank, Family Resource Center and other local charities.

If you know of someone in the community who needs extra assistance this year whether it is food need or toy need for their children, contact Sheriff Brent White at (270) 388-2311 or brent.white@lyonsheriff.com with this information.
