Man arrested for alleged assault on Park Street

SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) – A suspect was taken into custody late Tuesday afternoon following an alleged assault in the 500 block of Park Street earlier in the day.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when the suspect, who was reportedly trespassing, was confronted by the homeowner.

The suspect allegedly armed himself with a stick, struck the victim and fled the scene.

Police launched a search for the suspect, who was later apprehended Tuesday afternoon.

Charges are pending in connection with the incident.
