Man arrested in Wayne Co., MO for armed robbery at Cape Girardeau pizza restaurant

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A man faces charges for a July 3 armed robbery at a pizza restaurant in Cape Girardeau.

Joseph P. Walker II faces charges of robbery in the 1st degree, a Class A felony, armed criminal action unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class D felony.

On Sunday, July 3, officers responded to the Marco’s Pizza for a reported armed robbery. The suspect showed a firearm and stole cash from the business, according to the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

After an investigation and included assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies in the region, Walker II was arrested on August 3 in Wayne County, Mo. on charges unrelated to this robbery.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department submitted a report to the Cape Girardeau County State Prosecuting Attorney’s office, who then formally charged Walker with robbery in the 1st degree, a Class A felony, armed criminal action unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class D felony.

His cash-only bond was set at $50,000.
