Man taken into custody after allegedly breaking into apartment, discharging firearm
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A man has been taken into custody after allegedly breaking into an apartment and discharging a firearm.
According to police, Ethan R. Harris attempted to enter an apartment through a window, causing damage. He then allegedly tried to enter another apartment nearby.
A victim reported hearing a gunshot and seeing Harris standing outside. Police located Harris and found him in possession of a handgun.
Harris admitted to having the gun, claiming it discharged accidentally in his pocket. However, officers found no bullet hole in his clothing.
Police observed damage to the apartment windows and a bullet impact on the building. A shell casing was also found at the scene.
Harris is facing charges related to the incident.
