Marshall County announces burn ban amid drought emergency

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Citing extraordinary fire hazards due to drought conditions, Marshall County Judge/Executive Kevin Spraggs has issued an executive order prohibiting all burning within the county.
The order, effective immediately, aims to mitigate the risks associated with wood and brush fires, which can quickly exhaust local firefighting resources.
Weather forecasts indicate a prolonged dry period with no significant precipitation expected.
Local law enforcement personnel are directed to enforce the ban, with violators facing penalties under state law, specifically KRS 39A.90. The order will remain in effect until further notice.
A copy of the executive order will be released to media outlets and local emergency response agencies.
